Many a Litherland child took the 52 bus to Sefton Church to walk in the country or try and find the oldest grave stone in Sefton Churchyard. Before getting the bus back, they might spend any money they had on a bottle of pop from the outdoor at the Punch Bowl, or else visit the village sweet shop whose entrance was was located in Sefton Mill Lane. It was the smaller side of the house to the left of this picture.
