The Walker Pub The Litherland Hotel or “The Lithy” was a mainstay of Sefton Road at this site for nearly 200 years [factcheck], with a total rebuilding in the 1930s [factcheck]. In the 1990s [factcheck] the Litherland Hotel was renamed “The Priory” by Peter Walkers Brewery. There was a bit of a splash over this opening with the appearance of two fine dray horses pulling a Priory ale cart along the streets of Litherland.
LPA250 Then and Now: Sefton Council took the decision to remove the Priory from its list of assets of community value in 2016. Housing now occupies the spot where the Litherland Hotel/Priory stood as visible in Google Street View.
